Edge Capital initially relied on contract address whitelisting, a solid first line of defense, but recognized that as their DeFi activity expanded, they needed a more scalable way to identify hidden risks and strengthen existing safeguards.
Edge Capital is deeply active across DeFi, executing hundreds of transactions a day across protocols, bridges, and offchain messaging systems. To manage that risk, the team designed a comprehensive framework in a massive spreadsheet, capturing hundreds of parameters and protocol-specific checks to ensure nothing was overlooked. But as transaction volume and complexity grew, it became clear that even the most detailed manual system couldn’t keep up. Whitelists cannot catch malicious logic hidden inside contract inner calls or typed messages, and waiting for post-attack updates could mean reacting too late. To complement their existing protections, Edge looked for a way to automate those checks, interpret what each transaction really did before signing, and detect zero-day threats in real time. That led them to Hypernative Guardian.
Edge Capital is a leading market-neutral hedge fund that manages capital for the largest fund of funds, institutional investors, and leading crypto foundations and treasuries since 2020. With over $700M in AUM and more than 150 trusted partners—including Swiss banks, US ETF providers, and top-tier crypto allocators—Edge Capital delivers consistent performance through a non-directional, multi-strategy approach.
We needed real-time interpretation and enforcement across all our vaults to protect against both external and internal threats. Hypernative is uniquely positioned to simulate transaction intent, plug into our infrastructure, and let us define approval logic and automation that fit our operations securely.

Before Hypernative, Edge Capital managed transaction approval by creating a risk strategy with parameters for every DeFi app. With hundreds of protocol-specific rules and an average of 300 transactions per day, manual reviews became a bottleneck, and a liability. While their existing controls handled most risks effectively, new layers of DeFi complexity (like inner calls, offchain messages, and bridge logic) required deeper visibility. For a high-value target like Edge, real-time detection wasn’t optional, it was essential.
Edge Capital integrated Hypernative Guardian to enforce pre-transaction simulation and real-time policy across their diverse custody infrastructure, including Fireblocks, Fordefi, and internally managed wallets.
Key elements of the deployment:
This configuration transformed Guardian from a security layer into an operational gatekeeper, one Edge controls, extends, and evolves as threats change.
Since adopting Hypernative Guardian, Edge Capital has reshaped how it manages and enforces security across its onchain operations. The team reports smoother protocol interactions and greater confidence in their transaction workflow, even as overall transaction volumes remain high.
Guardian provides a strong defense against both external and internal threats, including phishing contracts, drainer payloads, cold data substitution vulnerabilities, and protocol-specific vulnerabilities. By automating checks and policies across multiple wallets, Edge can approve transactions faster and more securely, reducing the manual overhead that once slowed execution.
Configurability has been a major benefit. Edge worked closely with the Hypernative team to develop custom agent actions that prevent default approvals and enable secure automation, such as automating allowed tasks like revoke approvals while focusing the manual reviews on deviation from normal behavior. This flexibility ensures Guardian adapts to their specific DeFi strategy rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all model.
Guardian helps us reduce risks from both external and internal threats, including phishing contracts and drainer payloads. We also see it as a tool to automate some processes in a safer way.

Hypernative combines battle-tested machine learning models, heuristics, simulations, and graph-based detections to identify threats with high accuracy, giving customers the ability to stop exploits before they happen. The platform monitors security, technical, financial, governance, and other risks across 70+ chains, detecting 99.5% of hacks last year with less than 0.001% false positives and preventing over $2B in losses to date.
Guardian extends the protection of institutional wallet platforms by adding flexible, protocol-aware policy enforcement and real-time detection for zero-day vulnerabilities. It’s designed to handle everything from straightforward transfers to multi-million-dollar, multi-step transactions where relying solely on code review or transaction traces isn’t practical or timely.
With hyper-customizable policies, threat detection at the same block a malicious contract is deployed, and deep integration across wallets and APIs, Guardian enables institutions to operate confidently across both familiar and newly adopted DeFi protocols, without lowering their security bar. By automating policy enforcement and pre-transaction threat detection, Guardian turns security, compliance, and risk teams into business enablers, while cutting manual transaction reviews by up to 90%.
