Zama Turns to Hypernative to Monitor Its Confidential Token Contracts

The onchain privacy protocol is adding real-time monitoring to catch what encryption alone cannot flag.

Hypernative

Zama Protocol, a confidentiality layer that lets developers issue, trade, and manage encrypted digital assets on public blockchains, has hired Hypernative to monitor its smart contracts for suspicious activity.

The Zama Protocol runs on top of existing blockchains, including Ethereum, using fully homomorphic encryption so smart contracts can compute on encrypted data without exposing transaction amounts or balances. Zama is deploying Hypernative's Onchain Monitoring & Automated Response platform to track interactions with those contracts and build alerts around its own business logic

Compliance doesn't stop at screening. Institutions need continuous operational visibility throughout the lifecycle of confidential assets, not just a check at the door. Hypernative lets us define alerts around our own contracts and business logic. They're also already embedded in the ecosystem our liquidity providers operate in. With this partnership, we're extending the Zama Protocol's compliance-by-design architecture, giving liquidity providers and integration partners greater confidence to operate confidential financial infrastructure on public blockchains.

Rand Hindi, CEO @ Zama

The deployment covers real-time monitoring and custom alerting across Zama's Ethereum contracts, including the wrapper contracts behind its confidential USDC, USDT, and WETH tokens. Automated onchain response, such as an automatic contract pause, is available within the platform but is not yet configured for Zama's environment; for now, the priority is visibility and alerting.

The agreement also includes a professional services engagement to integrate Transaction Guard with Zama's SDK, so Zama and its integration partners can simulate and interpret transactions on the Zama Protocol before they execute.

We're excited to partner with Zama as they build the compliance foundation for confidential finance. Our monitoring gives their operators real-time visibility into their own system - adding a layer of security and compliance without ever weakening the confidentiality institutions are there for.
