Shift DeFi Adopts Hypernative to Protect Capital Deployed Across DeFi

Hypernative helps Shift DeFi detect potential onchain exploits and hacks in real time. The execution layer remains on Shift DeFi’s side: alerts feed into its own risk system, which determines whether to trigger an automated onchain vault pause.

Shift DeFi, a digital asset manager that deploys capital across onchain lending and yield protocols, has adopted Hypernative for real-time monitoring and automated response.

Shift DeFi runs a main vault denominated in its own asset and routes that capital into external protocols to generate yield for depositors. That structure leaves the firm exposed to every protocol it touches, so trouble at any one of them can put the vault at risk. To close that gap, Shift DeFi adopted Hypernative's Onchain Monitoring & Automated Response, which watches the protocols the firm is exposed to and flags any sign of compromise in real time. Shift DeFi's own system turns that alert into an onchain action.

Shift DeFi connected Hypernative's detections to its own automated onchain response. Hypernative monitors the protocols Shift DeFi is exposed to and, when it detects a hack or exploit, sends Shift DeFi a real-time notification. Shift DeFi's system acts on that signal automatically, pausing the vault and moving to make the position non-transferable the moment a threat is flagged. Detection comes from Hypernative; all execution stays on Shift DeFi's side.

The firm scoped that automated trigger to only the most severe categories, hacks and exploits, so routine protocol activity never pauses the vault. The response runs entirely on Shift DeFi's side, through the firm's own custody and execution setup, so signing credentials never leave its control.

Coverage breadth also weighed on the decision. Shift DeFi measured how quickly Hypernative adds support for new protocols and EVM chains, since the firm continually rotates capital into new venues and needs monitoring in place before it deploys, not weeks after.

Asset managers are running positions across dozens of protocols at once, and every one of those is a dependency they inherit risk from. Detecting a problem is not enough if a person still has to wake up, confirm it, and act. The value is in connecting detection to an automated onchain response that protects the position in the same minute the threat appears.
